Snow Alien of the Day

Snow filled up to my knees this weekend in Champaign, and the campus has became a land of snowmen. Among the other snowmen, there was this snow alien I encountered. I approached her with my camera, and she was posing as if she is saying “hi.” Her eyes were so big and charming that I wanted to touch them, but I did not want to offend her. I hope she is not bullied for being different. The only reason I approached her is because of her uniqueness, which made her more intriguing.

Inspiring Hackathon Participant

This young gentleman I met at Union Station, just finished a 36-hour Hackathon at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He came all the down to Champaign from Chicago to participate in the event. He looked really tired when I first saw him, but when I asked him about the event and what he had done there, his eyes brightened up and started to talk about how he made this payment software. He said he only slept 6 hours, but he exclaimed how excited he was to be there. It was an inspiring moment to see someone with great passion in what he does.

New York in Contrast

My first trip to New York was more intriguing than I expected it to be. My previous experience with New York was only through TV, which included criminal scenes and fashion. Manhattan proved my conventional thoughts wrong; the city embraces multiple atmosphere including vibrance, elegance, magnificence, and many more.

The thing I liked the most about Manhattan was its remarkable landscapes. Although there are many other cities with great views, this one had different stories embedded into each.

The downside of the city is that there are way too many advertisements. Ad clutter seems to be more distracting than attractive.

No single sign caught my eyes except this one.

Manhattan is such a busy city where taxis are everywhere to pick up someone; however, it is hard to find one that would give me a ride.  It feels like the demand for taxi is higher than the number of taxis available.

Vital and dynamic presence made me feel alive, but at the end of the day, I missed my sweet home. I might be getting used to the calm and placid suburban lifestyle.

Beyond Imagination: Surreal Photographs

Being shorter than the average female height, I have always wanted to become taller. However, I have overcome my un-granted wish and moved on to think beyond. I am only a tiny part of this world but with a great imagination who can look at the world in many perspectives.
